Situation

A services company was looking at consolidating all its technology infrastructure within a Data Centre. Rukanya Consulting was called upon to understand the business needs and evaluate data centre partners and suggest a partner along with costs, terms, and conditions.

Task & Action

After a full understanding of the infrastructure and business uses, Rukanya engaged with several data centre providers. Rukanya then shortlisted two possible partners and carried out the pricing and terms negotiation and recommended the ranking of the partners to the company. During this exercise, Rukanya suggested that some of the servers be consolidated, some can go into a public cloud-based service and the remaining infrastructure could be set up within a data centre with a roadmap to move to a cloud-based model in due course of time. These recommendations were discussed across the company and finally accepted by the IT and Management teams for implementation. Rukanya Consulting led the implementation effort as well.
